On page 3 of the Cambridge Town Crier there is a half-page advertisement with the following heading:
THE PERSE SCHOOL
A sixth form school with a notable academic record and a wide range of extra-curricular activities
On page 5 of the Cambridge Town Crier a news report begins:
“A female teacher at the Perse School, Cambridge, has quit her job after a relationship with a former pupil.”
Whoops.
One has to ask “why?”
What did she do wrong?
One feels there must be more to this than meets the eye.
“One feels there must be more to this than meets the eye.”
The headmaster said “to the best of his knowledge, any friendship which began to be formed during the boy’s final months at the school only went further after he had left”. I don’t know how anyone could find a clear statement like that in any way suspicious. The teacher probably felt uncomfortable continuing in her position and wanted to spare the school any further embarrassment, so she left voluntarily, having informed her superiors of all of the relevant details of her private life.
