As I said in my [inauguration] speech, not every nation is going to immediately adopt America’s vision of democracy and I fully understand that. But we expect nations to adopt the values inherent in a democracy, which is human rights and human dignity, that every person ought to have a voice.
Pentagon documents released Monday disclosed that Iraqi prisoners had lodged dozens of abuse complaints against U.S. and Iraqi personnel who guarded them at a little-known palace in Baghdad converted to a U.S. prison. Among the allegations was that guards had sodomized a disabled man and killed his brother, whose dying body was tossed into a cell, atop his sister . . . The alleged abuse at the palace included forced sodomy, electric shocks, cigarette burns and severe beatings. Some allegations by prisoners were corroborated by U.S. civilian military contractors hired to help interrogate detainees, according to the Pentagon documents.
“Dr. Amer how many people have been killed in the last assault on Fallujah …in the estimation of doctors?”
Dr. Amer “well, no one of us can estimate the total number of killed people. For example we have so far collected from just a few neighbourhoods some 481 cadavers….added to that are many bodies
buried inside the houses and gardens of Fallujah … ..in the garden in front of my house I found 3 bodies. In addition the American troops dug mass graves in the city which contain an unknown number of bodies.”
Dr. Amer, We heard that the American troops used illegal weapons ….
Regarding what I saw and heard from my colleagues who stayed more, napalm bombs were used. I saw its effects on the bodies.. Completely burned bodies. This is what the other doctors saw and we will supply you with pictures. On the other hand of the use of chemical weapons I have no knowledge. But the scene of the burned bodies was horrific.
Dr. Amer can I ask you what happened to your house
” What happened to my house ? ” It is destroyed , all my memories finished there !” Dr. Amer said. He continued, “all the furniture destroyed. My brother had some goods inside the house, these were stolen. They even shot the refrigerator, freezer and the television and they smashed the cupboards. All our pictures have been torn on the ground. They want to make us forget our history.
