With the massive success of the new Take That single, Patience, I am praying that this is the moment when they become the post-break-up David Gilmour-led Pink Floyd and Robbie Williams becomes the post-The Wall Roger Waters. Same initials see, see?! Take that, Mr End-Of-The-Pier karaoke compere!

I haven’t heard the song. This is where avoiding all radio (except when I stick Radio 4 on in the kitchen before leaving the house) and most TV comes in very handy.
It’s good. I was in front of MTV at my parents’ when the video for it came on and I completely failed to recognise any of the members of the band as they made their way up mist-wreathed rocks dressed in overcoats lip-synching. I was thinking, “That song’s not bad at all. I wonder who’s singing it.”
Just watched it on YouTube; as radio pop goes, it’s fine.
I was working at a company in Salford yesterday. Sat next to me was a telesales guy, named Gary Barlow ! His most used phrase is ‘No, not that Gary Barlow’.
I was a bit slow on this one, thinking it was inoffensive, but I’ve come around to it now – it’s very good.
