Yesterday I was away helping Jackie Danicki with her rather good “What MySpace Means” event—and arguing with her fiancé about drug advertising, and meeting up with the Anonymous Economist to have the same argument again—so didn’t get back to DunGeekin’ until 2 o’clock this morning. As a result I am now behind with everything, including my email messages and phone calls. Sorry, friends.
While I catch up, let me leave you with heartily anti-Communist Jackie’s dinnertime justification for her belief that mild-mannered Professor Norman Geras is dangerous:
“The trouble with Norm is that he’s such a nice guy. I don’t want people to get the idea that Marxists are like that.”
Thank goodness you don’t go in for name-dropping…On the other hand, the best I can do for excuses for not blogging today are three unfilled rubbish bags for the local dump, my daughter’s reflections on the similarity of the iconography of the Warsaw Ghetto and Wartime Animal Victims Memorials, and needing to completely redo an ebay ad…. Otherwise I could be doing a wonderful post on why I think Jackie Danicki might just be on to something… -Sigh-
Damian, thank you so much for your help yesterday. It was definitely one of the best calls I made in planning the entire event. (Antoine said to me last night, “You know, it was REALLY good having Damian there to give you support.” I was all, “Dude, no duh!”)
Norm is the loveliest and must be stopped!
You’re welcome, Jackie.
And, sure, I might have dropped your new camera, but which of the photos taken with it yesterday is the best, eh? Who took it, eh? Eh?
The best photo(s) taken with it were all the ones I took. I took them. I fail to see your point.
(Just kidding, of course. I’d forgotten about the dropping thing, but now that you’ve reminded me of it at 23.40, there’s no way I’m getting to sleep before midnight. Thanks AGAIN, friend.)
Damn! If only the world would just live up to our manichean stereotypes, eh? 😉
