I think this might work off You Tube. For example, “JJ Cale, Call Me The Breeze” gives the live version wih Eric Clapton, which is the number 1 result on You Tube.
Ry Cooder gives you “Paris Texas” soundtrack, but his other songs aren’t there. Just as they aren’t on You Tube (his record company had most of them pulled). BB King isn’t there either, as is also true of You Tube.
It’s not proof of course, but I do think that’s where it’s coming from.
I think this says more about the frequency with which people play records that John Peel likes—the Songerize service searches online streaming music—than it does about Songerize.
I typed in Love Hurts by Liberace, and all it said was, “Sorry, couldn’t find song”. Amazing? Load of rubbish more like.
It also works if you type an artist’s name and not the song.

Oh, a tip. Stevie Ray Vaughan, “Life by the drop”. Listen, now!
I typed in Mansion by The Fall and Big Eyed Beans From Venus by Captain Beefheart. John Peel faves, so hardly too obscure.
“Sorry, couldn’t find song” on both. Amazing….
