Ouch is right. I worked as a frame carpenter just out of school (the job market for engineering was far worse in ’99 than it is now), but I managed never to put nails in myself. I did have to pull a few out of various co-workers’ body parts however: hands, forearm, finger-knuckle, even a knee. Of course, as ‘pros’ we generally disengaged the springs on the safety tips. You can nail a wall together a whole lot faster without those pesky, useless things! :o)
