It was *like* a clerihew but – well, not to be too pedantic or anything, and with all due consideration for the fact that it’s hard to find a rhyme for “Livingstone” (or for “Counsell”, damn it – and “Damian”? Let’s not even go there) – not quite the same.

The mayor [insert name]
Was quick to proclaim … (etc.)
